Wiltshire Fire Control relocated to the Wiltshire Emergency Services Emergency Communications Centre (ECC) in March 2004 in a newly constructed building within the curtilage of the Wiltshire Constabulary site in Devizes. The ECC is home to Wiltshire Ambulance, Fire and Police control rooms all working in a single large room. The command and control system enables calls to be quickly answered with accurate locations being established on the Geographical Information System (GIS) and speedily passed to fire station equipment to alert responding crews. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Within the Emergency Services Communications Centre, each Service has
its own dedicated staffs, both for call taking and despatch of their own
resources, thus retaining the professionalism and experience of each Service,
while sharing common facilities, infrastructure and some tasks, such as
mapping updates. To view the organisational structure of FRS Control, click here If you are interested in becoming a Fire Control Operator, click here If you want more information on the Emergency Services Communication Centre, click here |
